5Great Shorts-Great Price  Jun 24, 2010 By Kevin M. Mcnichols
I have always ignored the requests to rate products before, but I had to let people know about this one. I have a few pair of Columbia water shorts and I love them- comfortable, quick drying, good pockets. I wear them all the time and I needed a few more, but the price was a little steep at about $30 a pair, so I thought I'd give these a shot. At only $12.00 who cares if they suck? The shorts are great. I like them better than Columbia. They are cut a little longer, but are built just as well. I just tried to buy a few more pair, but they only have two colors, and only one color in my size. I don't think you can ask more from a pair of shorts, and you can get three pair for the price the major brands charge for one.

4Comfortable, Functional, Inexpensive Shorts  Jun 11, 2011 By Two Wheels
These shorts feel like a cotton blend, so are slightly heavier than a full synthetic fabric. The benefit is that they are also more durable, and they are still quite comfortable for bicycle commuting in hot weather. I usually wear them over a pair of bicycle shorts for my 8 - 10 mile ride to work. They come with a sewn-in mesh lining; I followed the advice of several other reviewers and cut out the lining immediately upon receiving them. My only cavil is that the pockets are not very deep, and they have only one back pocket - so if you're used to carrying a lot of stuff on you, you'll either need a bag or a different pair of shorts. Apart from that minor issue, though, they're great and you can't beat the price.

5Steal These Shorts!  Sep 09, 2010 By Office Rat
These shorts are simply a steal. I cut out the mesh liner to use them as regular shorts, then bought a second pair to wear for swimming. The elastic in the waist is a little light weight, and the belt is fixed, so it may be a little off-center if the shorts are a little large and you cinch it down. I have a 36 inch waist, the large size claims to fit 36-38 inch waists, which seems accurate. I also like the length; they hit me a couple inches above the knee. The cotton blend is less stiff than my all nylon name-brand shorts. Unless you must have a fancy label, or two back pockets instead of one, there's no reason to spend more for a pair of casual shorts/trunks.
